MRI 101 for neurology residents

AAVSB RACE approved for 60 credits of CE.

This 5-week course includes 25 examples of essential cases a neurologist needs to master to confidently diagnose brain and spinal cases. This course is specifically designed for the 2nd/3rd year neurology resident and the newly boarded neurologist. Basic schematic approach to brain and spine studies will be covered. A basic understanding of MRI physics and principles is required.

Sample topics include:

Brain tumors
Inflammatory/Infectious brain disease
Congenital structural disease
Intervertebral disc disease
Spinal tumors
Spinal inflammatory/infectious disease

Instruction is case-based and self-paced, including writing reports. For each case you submit, you will receive a gold-standard report and key images to review against your findings. Each week you will meet with Dr. Sage via Zoom conference to review the cases and discuss any questions you may have.
